Bend Studio, a division of SIE, announced that ‘Days Gone: Remastered’ will launch on April 25 for both PS5 and PC. The open‑world action‑adventure has received a comprehensive overhaul, improving graphics, audio and adding new modes and accessibility options, so that both newcomers and veterans can experience Deacon St. John’s survival journey at its best.
The original ‘Days Gone’ arrived on PC through Steam and Epic on May 18 2021. For the remastered edition, players can already buy the $10 Broken Road DLC to unlock additional modes and enhancements.

Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Director at Bend Studio, said the remastered version was made in partnership with Climax Studios to deliver the ultimate experience of ‘Days Gone’ by taking advantage of PS5’s hardware. The update brings higher resolution visuals, richer shadows, improved lighting, longer foliage draw distance, Tempest 3D audio, variable refresh rates, and a choice between Picture and Performance modes so players can tailor the experience to their preferences.

In addition to the technical upgrades, the remastered edition fully supports DualSense wireless controllers. Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers let players feel engine vibrations, tire grip and weapon recoil more realistically, while weather sounds such as rain and thunder are intensified through controller rumble to deepen immersion.

Bend Studio highlighted the expanded accessibility features in ‘Days Gone: Remastered’, adding high‑contrast mode, gameplay speed adjustments, UI narration, audio cues for collectibles, key remapping and FOV options so a broader audience can enjoy the game.

The remastered release introduces a brand‑new survival arcade mode called ‘Zombie Wave Assault’. In this mode players confront larger hordes of mutated zombies, battle ruthless survivors and evolved variants across classic zones of the original map, unlocking new characters, skins and power‑up items.

For those seeking the ultimate challenge, ‘Permadeath Mode’ requires continuous play until the story ends. A single death forces a restart, either from the beginning or from chapter two to ease difficulty. Successful completion yields a unique trophy and a performance screen showing time and kill statistics.

The studio also added ‘Speedrun Mode’, letting players compete for the fastest completion time and share results on social platforms. The camera and photo mode now feature time adjustment, three‑point lighting and multiple game logos for creative expression.

The remastered version will be sold digitally. PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10, while new buyers pay $49.99. PS4 disc owners must insert the disc into a PS5 to download the digital edition, and PlayStation Plus redemption versions are not eligible for the upgrade. PC players will receive the full content on April 25 2025 on Steam and Epic Store, with a $10 Broken Road DLC to unlock new modes.
Pre‑ordering ‘Days Gone: Remastered’ grants players eight PSN avatar skins—Deacon, Jack, Sarah, Rager, Boozer, Nero, Rikki and Horde—plus early access to five in‑game upgrades: Monkey Wrench skill, Nitrogen Upgrade 1, Shield Upgrade 1, Drift Arbalest and Fuel Tank Upgrade 1.
