Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the famed Tomb Raider trilogy, has announced that it is cutting nearly 30 staff members as part of a broader restructuring. This marks the third wave of layoffs the company has undertaken this year. The decision was described as "difficult but necessary," with the aim of streamlining the development of the studio’s upcoming large‑scale Tomb Raider title.

Today, we made a hard yet essential decision to reorganize Crystal Dynamics’ studios and teams. In order to restructure the company and its operations for the next generation, we had to part ways with roughly 30 colleagues across various departments and projects.
Crystal Dynamics sincerely thanks everyone affected, recognizing their outstanding talent, hard work, and dedication—qualities that have helped the studio grow and thrive. The company pledges to provide resources and support throughout this transition period.
To our players—industry realities continue to evolve, and we have made these painful choices to refine the ongoing development of our flagship Tomb Raider, as well as to realign other studio departments in preparation for future new game projects.
