Delta Operation Apologizes for Using Battlefield 2042 Image

A recent discovery by netizens revealed that the mobile version of Tencent’s Delta Operation had used an original image from Battlefield 2042 in its update splash screen. The incident sparked widespread discussion online, prompting Tencent to issue a formal apology that did not explicitly name Battlefield 2042.

In a statement, the company explained that the image appeared due to an accidental use of placeholder graphics, which caused the wrong picture to load especially under weak network conditions. They acknowledged the mistake, expressed deep regret, and apologized to the rights holders and the community.

The offending image has already been removed from the game.

Official Apology During the mobile version update, we discovered that an unauthorized image from another product appeared in the update prompt. After investigation, we found that the issue stemmed from mistakenly using placeholder images, leading to incorrect displays when resources failed to load or under low‑bandwidth situations. We deeply recognize the error and hereby sincerely apologize to the rights holders and all players. Measures Taken: 1. Immediate removal of the problematic asset—once identified, we corrected the configuration and deleted the unauthorized image. 2. Strict investigation and disciplinary action—our team will conduct a thorough review and enforce appropriate penalties on the responsible parties. 3. Strengthened copyright awareness and improved review processes—future projects will include enhanced training on copyright compliance and tighter material vetting to prevent recurrence. We understand the inconvenience caused and once again request your understanding. — Delta Operation Project Team
