Intel announced on Wednesday that, with backing from DigitalBridge Group and other investors, it will spin off an AI software business into a new independent company. The new entity, named Articul8 AI, will stem from Intel’s partnership with Boston Consulting Group on enterprise AI projects and will have its own board, though Intel will remain a shareholder. It will offer a full‑stack generative AI platform that keeps customer data, training and inference secure in corporate clouds, on‑premises, or hybrid environments, giving clients flexibility on where and how to deploy. Arun Subramaniyan, former Intel data‑center and AI group executive, will lead Articul8 AI as CEO, addressing concerns about data privacy, security, and cost control when large teams adopt generative models. Intel’s team has built a generative AI system on its supercomputer that blends open‑source and proprietary tech to process text and images, and has refined it to run inside BCG’s data center to mitigate privacy risks. Boston Consulting Group’s Rich Lesser noted that the joint venture, still in its incubation phase, has already deployed Articul8 AI for several clients who demand production‑ready platforms for rapid market entry. The platform’s robustness extends to high‑security domains such as finance, aerospace, semiconductors, and telecommunications. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger emphasized that Articul8 AI will deliver tangible business outcomes for Intel and its broader ecosystem, reinforcing the company’s global AI acceleration efforts.
