Atlus recently shared a wealth of screenshots showcasing the upcoming Japanese RPG "Soul Hackers 2."
The images reveal multiple characters and core gameplay mechanics. While traversing the world, players encounter enemies highlighted in red. In line with classic RPG conventions, these foes will chase the player once detected, forcing an encounter. If the player manages to strike an enemy with a sword before the battle begins, the enemy’s status is lowered. Defeating a fallen foe grants damage bonuses, and certain skills can further amplify that reward.
During exploration, the character Lin (林檎) can dispatch demon scouts to pave the way. Upon meeting a demon, the player may receive items or health restoration.
These scouts also introduce allies they’ve met along the route; the player can talk to them and bring them into the party.
Soul Hackers 2 is slated for release on August 25 and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
